
Ariana Grande-Butera is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her fame is due to her distinctive whistle register use and her four-octave vocal range which has been highly praised by critics as well as the media. The media has paid close attention to her personal life and music. Grande has received many awards throughout her career, including two Grammy Awards, one Brit Award, one Bambi Award, two Billboard Music Awards and three American Music Awards, nine MTV Video Music Awards, and 30 Guinness World Records.Grande began her music career at the age of 15 with the year 2008's Broadway musical 13. Her performance as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious (2010-2013) as well as Sam & Cat (2013) has made her famous. Grande was signed to Republic Records in 2011 after management of the label viewed YouTube videos of her performing songs. Her 1950s doo-wop-influenced pop and R&B debut album,[2] Yours Truly (2013) was a top seller on the US Billboard 200, while the lead track, "The Way", made it to the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Grande's vocals and whistle sound on the album immediately compared with Mariah Carey.
